About Oxygen

Youth Ministry @ The Bridge

Oxygen is the youth ministry of The Bridge. The Bridge is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church in Silver Spring, MD. The church's purpose is stated in the motto: Love God. Love Other. Make a Difference. We call ourselves a church for imperfect people. We believe God takes us “as-is.” Once we have a relationship with Him, He helps us to be the people He has called us to be. Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we invite you to grow and explore with us.

Why Oxygen?

Quite simply, we can’t live without it! Like Oxygen, we need Christ to live. When we unite with Christ, we become a life-giving force. Together, we can give life to entire communities!

Give Christ. Give life.

I am the way and the truth and the life.
— Jesus (John 14:6)

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to train up and invest in the next generation of Christ-followers who will love God, love others and make a difference.

Our Mission

Our vision is to be an inspiring youth ministry that unites youth with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and unites youth with one another to build up His kingdom.

  • We envision youth across the Silver Spring area becoming faithful Christ-followers.

  • We envision youth serving our community and our world together in the name of Jesus Christ.

  • We envision our youth being surrounded by supportive and encouraging adults who will model for them what it means to love God, love others, and make a difference.

  • We envision creative and inspiring youth events that help youth build healthy relationships and engage with God in new, fun, and meaningful ways.

Oxygen Nights (2nd Friday of the Month)

The youth ministry gathers for a fun-filled youth night each month on the 2nd Friday of the month! We have games, music, special activities, free food, and a relevant message to help youth connect the Scriptures to their lives.

Oxygen Circles (4th Sunday of the Month)

Middle school and high school small groups meet separately during the Sunday morning worship experience to spend time learning the truths of the Bible and building strong relationships with youth leaders and peers who will help them take their relationship with God deeper.
